You reach Broome by plane from Perth or Darwin, or by car on the Great Northern Highway. In town, buses run between Chinatown and Cable Beach. For trips into the Kimberley you need a 4WD or a tour.
May to October is the dry season, with warm days and pleasant nights — the best time to visit. November to April is hot and humid, with rain and jellyfish in the sea. You can see Staircase to the Moon on a few evenings around the full moon from March to October.
